Mytrex MXD: Support & Troubleshooting Guide
๐ Setting Up & Powering Your Traditional Unit
The traditional Mytrex MXD home base console connects directly to your residential utilities and must remain powered at all times to monitor your wireless personal safety devices.
- Place your MXD console unit on a central, flat surface like a nightstand or kitchen counter.
- Plug the power transformer into an electrical outlet that is **not** managed by a wall light switch.
- Connect the included telephone line cord from the back of the unit into your home telephone jack or internet modem.
- The base unit automatically turns on once it receives electrical power and features an internal **rechargeable backup battery** protecting you for up to 30 hours during unexpected blackouts.
๐จ Understanding the Core STATUS Indicator Light
The integrated STATUS light on the lower-left edge of the large blue HELP button displays your connectivity properties at a glance:
| Light Pattern | System Status | What to Do |
|---|---|---|
| ๐ข Solid Green | System Ready | Normal status. Your phone line connection and electrical power are active. |
| ๐ข Blinking Green | AC Power Missing | The console is operating via backup battery power. Ensure the power cable is plugged into a functional outlet. |
| ๐ก Blinking Orange | Phone Line & Power Fault | The console lacks electrical power and cannot find an active phone line. Check all wall wire inputs. |
| ๐ด Solid Red | Alarm Call Triggered | The system is actively phoning the emergency center. Wait for the operator to speak over the speakerphone. |
โฑ๏ธ Running a Routine System Test
We recommend testing your equipment manually **once every 30 days** to ensure the telephone transmission and audio properties are clear.
- Firmly press your wearable button or the large blue **HELP Button** on top of the MXD base unit.
- The base console will immediately emit a verbal announcement stating: “Calling for Help.”
- Wait for the emergency response center attendant to greet you clearly over the unit speakerphone.
- State clearly to the attendant: “This is just a routine test.”
- The attendant will log the test call and close out the communication successfully.
๐ Fall Detection Pendant: Function & Adjustments
Your system supports an automatic **Fall Detection Pendant** which identifies sudden gravity changes and heavy acceleration velocity.
Canceling Accidental Activations:
If you drop the pendant or bump it hard on a surface, the base unit will announce that it is dispatching a call. If you are unhurt and do not need support, press the black **RESET button** located on the rear or top of the MXD base console to stop the call immediately.
*Important Wearer Instructions: The fall pendant must be worn high on the chest directly over your sternum. Keep the accessory resting over your clothing rather than tucked beneath shirts to maintain optimal acceleration sensor data. Automatic fall detection does not catch 100% of incidents; always press the button manually if you are physically able.*
๐ Testing the Wireless Range of Your Buttons
The MXD console includes a dedicated hardware diagnostic mode to trace signal limits without placing actual telephone calls to the response center.
How to conduct a personal range test:
Press the white **T/L (Test/Learn) button** located on the back panel of the MXD once. The unit will announce: “Range Test Mode.” Walk around different areas of your home and yard while holding down your wearable button. The base will sound a continuous tone as long as a clean transmission signal is detected. Once finished, press the black **RESET button** on the console to exit testing mode and hear the “System Ready” voice prompt.
๐งผ Cleaning, Maintenance & Shower Safety
Shower Safety: All standard personal help buttons and fall-detection pendants are fully water-resistant. You are encouraged to wear them in the bath or shower where accidental falls regularly happen.
Console Placement: The MXD base console is an indoor electronic item and is not waterproof. Keep the station protected from moisture-rich spaces, steam, or liquid cleanings.
Sanitization: Gently clean the exterior surfaces and straps using a soft, slightly dampened washcloth. Do not spray commercial liquid disinfectants or glass cleaner aerosols directly into the speaker layout holes.
